A Guide
How long a commissioned working takes to prepare and close
A studio timeline. Not a timeline for anything happening in your life.
The three stages of an order
- Received
Your brief lands in the studio and is read in full. You see the order marked received.
- Prepared
Materials are set, timing is chosen, and the work is carried out in-house.
- Closed
The working is sealed, notes are written up, and the order is marked complete.
Most commissions are prepared and closed within one to three weeks of the brief arriving. Charged audio is usually delivered sooner, since the files are prepared and sent to your account. That clock describes our work only.
Why timing is chosen at all
Traditional practice attaches meaning to when a rite is performed: planetary hours and days, the phase of the moon, feast days in saint work, the quiet hours in Saturnian material. We follow those conventions because they belong to the craft and shape how a working is built — not because a calendar governs events in the world.
What can lengthen preparation
- A brief that arrives without the detail we asked for, so we write to you first.
- A working whose traditional timing falls in a later part of the cycle.
- Bespoke commissions, which begin with divination before anything is prepared.
- Several pieces of charged audio ordered together, which are cut one at a time.
Repeating a working
Our terms hold a rite for six weeks before the same work is laid over it again, so the practice is given room in the traditional way. That is a studio rule about how we work, written into the policy, and it says nothing about anything happening or not happening in your life.
For how a rite is built, see building a love rite, and for what clients keep notes on afterwards, notes clients keep after a working.
